History
Boardwalk Building (1910)
Originally built by the Ross Brothers as a hardware warehouse on 103 Street NW, the Boardwalk Building served Edmonton’s growing commercial sector for decades. Most recently home to Centre High School, the building is now being restored to reflect its original architectural features.
Revillon Building (1912)
Two years later, in 1912, the Revillon Building was built by Revillon Frères, France’s leading fur company, to serve as its Canadian headquarters and distribution centre. The building quickly became a key part of Edmonton’s early warehouse district, notable for its functional design and architectural detail. The structure remains a landmark in the city’s commercial heritage.
Connection & Revitalization
Originally separated by a laneway, the two buildings were joined in 1986 with a glass atrium, creating a unified workspace. Recent redevelopment has revitalized the property, preserving its historic elements while integrating modern office systems and amenities. Today, Revillon Boardwalk balances heritage character with contemporary functionality, continuing its legacy as a centerpiece of downtown Edmonton.
